旧暦【KYUU-REKI】Old lunar calendar used until about 150 years ago matches Japanese climate more.

In Japan, the lunar calendar had been used until the Western sun calendar

has adopted by Meiji government in 1872.

 

So, peach flowers do not bloom in peach festival day.

 

 

 

 

Irises do not bloom in iris’ festival day.

 

 

 

 

 

Chrysanthemums do not bloom in the chrysanthemum festival day.

 

 

 

 

 

Tanabata is always the rainy season sky and we can not see the Milky Way ….

 

 

 

 

 

These sad displacement happens because old seasonal events are late  about a month from the the current calendar.
