There are 錦鯉【NISHIKGOI】 ,called “swimming jewels” farms in YAMAKOSHI village and they feed
NISHIKI-GOI in rice terrace in mid summer.
It has been YAMAKOSHI【YAMAKOSHI】 style to crop rice and NISHIKI-GOI at same time in Autumn.
There are several events selling NISHIKIGOI in summer,from August to early September,
but you can watch and buy them at indoor NISHIKI-GOI farms all through a year.
たまサバ【TAMASABA】 ;GIANT GOLDFISH HAVING ROUND BODY AND MACKEREL SHAPED TAIL ARE ALSO GROWN WITH NISHIKI-GOI.
Recently, Goldfish called TAMA-SABA is popular.They became large in few years so called” Giant Goldfish”
and strong to coldness of winter because they have been grown with NISHIKI-GOI in the same rice tarraces or
pools .
